Transshipments

General cargo and bulk cargo as well as project shipments are transshipped at the Port of Freudenau; container transshipments by our subsidiary WienCont are also executed at Freudenau.
The Port of Albern serves as a transport hub for agricultural products, building materials and steel. High & heavy loads are also handled at the Port of Albern. The Port of Lobau serves for loading and unloading of liquid bulk cargo (fuels, heating oil).

Bulk cargo/general cargo

• 4 transshipment platforms for block trains

• Trading, repair & cleaning of containers

• Trucking and customs service

   

  High & Heavy loads

• 4,000 m² area for handling heavy cargo at the Port of Albern

• Handling of loads of up to 450 tonnes in regular operation

 

Cargo transshipments are executed by using a fully hydraulic slewable luffing crane with a load capacity of 12 tonnes for grab operations and 13.5 tonnes for hook operations. Additionally, there is a new mobile crane for transshipping cargo of up to 84 tonnes in weight.

The Port of Vienna also boasts a rail connection and two weighbridges. Additionally, there are cranes with a load capacity from 10 to 80 tonnes and a hydraulic mobile excavator with a load capacity of 6 tonnes. Heavy cargo transshipments as well as craning services for motor vessels round off the range of services provided at the Port of Freudenau.
