Bonded warehouse A
Public bonded warehouse type A since 1 August 2010
In accordance with an amendment to the Customs Code, the Port of Vienna transformed its customs free-warehouse into a bonded warehouse type A with effect from 1 August 2010.
The public bonded warehouse type A is officially approved for handling dutiable goods, in which EU community and bonded goods can be stored without the payment of a fee for the duration of the storage.
It is enclosed and guarded twenty-four hours a day. The depositing and removal of bonded goods are monitored and recorded by the customs authorities. The Port of Vienna is authorised to represent the authorities and to keep an inventory of the goods stored. The existence of a dedicated bonded warehouse enables shipments to be processed rapidly and efficiently.
A wide range of services are offered to national and international customers at the bonded warehouse type A, including the storage and handling of goods and vehicles, and logistical services such as cross-decking, order picking or repacking.
